Hand-held transmitter cannot be programmed

Are all hand-held transmitter models compatible with the same frequency?

Unfortunately not! In addition to the frequency, other features, such as the manufacturer-specific coding, are responsible for the fault-free function of the hand-held transmitter.

Therefore, check whether the hand-held transmitter is exactly the same hand-held transmitter as your existing hand-held transmitter. Brand, frequency, model designation.

Basically, hand-held transmitters usually have a DIP switch (hard-coded) and a changeable code (rolling code).

Setting hand-held transmitters with coding switch (DIP switch):
(DIP switch is usually 10 to 20 mini switches arranged on a strip in the hand-held transmitter)
The settings of the switch positions must be taken over from the old hand-held transmitter.
Note the ON and OFF or 1 ; 0 ; -1 position of the DIP switches.

In some cases, the coding can also be seen on the radio receiver. Please also refer to the instructions for your door system.

Setting hand-held transmitter with rolling code:
A hand-held transmitter with rolling code must be programmed into your receiver or control unit. To do this, open the radio receiver or control unit on the door or operator. It is best to follow the aerial cable as it leads directly to the receiver unit. But be careful! The system could be energised!

Please note:

Open the radio receiver and look at the circuit board. You should see a learn button there. This may be labelled as follows: LEARN, LEARN, MEMORY, PROGRAMME, PRG, P, M, L, K1 or 1
Press the button for max. 2 seconds, after which a tone may sound or an LED may light up/flash. The receiver is now in programming mode.
Now press the desired channel button on the new hand-held transmitter for at least 3 seconds (caution, the door may move!) This channel button on the transmitter is now memorised.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 to memorise any other buttons (channels) on the transmitter, e.g. on other doors with the same radio system.

If the newly ordered hand transmitter corresponds exactly to the existing hand transmitter and the above instructions were not successful, please contact us and we will be happy to investigate the cause.
